CBD + YOU

CANNABIS FOR WOMEN

No signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol (CBD) to healthy volunteers. CBD affects people differently, all starting with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) —the system that helps regulate sleep, appetite, mood, motor control, immune function, pleasure, pain, reproduction, fertility, memory and temperature regulation.

While the human body naturally produces endocannabinoids, the effects of CBD on the body vary person to person. Reasons for varied results may include:

GENETICS

Only 20% of humans have a healthy ECS with high levels ofanandamide — the “bliss” molecule

Those with greater “bliss” levels are less likely to feel the effects of CBD, since their body already produces the intended results.

GENDER

Diet, stress + lifestyle influence endocannabinoid levels.Estrogen may enhance sensitivity to cannabis — particularly 1-2 days prior to ovulation when estrogen has peaked and begins to fall.

LIFESTYLE

Using cannabis as a treatment provides a different experience than using cannabis recreationally. Once fighting off an ailment is complete, a person’s endocannabinoid levels are replenished, thus having a feeling of normalcy.

A healthy person, on the other hand, may use the same product and feel nothing at all or very different effects and thus, build tolerance.

UNDERSTANDING CANNABIS

THC VS CBD

Choosing the path to hemp that is right for you can be overwhelming, regardless if you’re a first-time or returning user. W!NK™ is dedicated to empowering women who want to enjoy the effects of cannabis and hemp-derived CBD products. Understanding your journey is a large part of your life with hemp.

The education is vast, but we're happy to guide you through the basics: CBD and THC are the two most prominent cannabinoids found in Cannabis, the plant genus that includes both CBD (hemp) + THC (marijuana).

Both interact with the body through the endocannabinoid system — an important physiologic system involved in establishing + maintaining human health by regulating a wide array of functions — some of which include: pain, mood, memory, immune response, sleep + cycles of cellular life.

The Cannabis plant contains 60+ naturally occurring, active compounds called cannabinoids. Of those 60+ compounds, Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are the most common. The THC cannabinoid is responsible for producing the mind-altering psychoactive effects known as “the high.”

Unlike THC, the cannabinoid CBD is non-intoxicating yet still maintains the same therapeutic benefits of Cannabis without “the high.” Cannabis plants are divided into two crops: hemp (also known as Industrial Hemp) and marijuana each with different cannabinoid ratios.

CANNABIS

Influences a wide range of receptor systems throughout the whole body to increase naturally-produced cannabinoids:

  • THC
  • CBD

WHAT IS THC?

TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL ("MARIJUANA")

HOW DOES THC AFFECT ME?

THC is psychoactive & you will become intoxicated.

THE BASICS

THC is responsible for most of the physiological effects that each user feels, but additional terpene and minor cannabinoid molecules accompanying it can modulate these effects considerably to a mind-altering capacity. Contains on average 18%+ THC.

WHERE IS THC DERIVED FROM?

Extracted from Marijuana (female) plant

IS THC LEGAL?

THC is only available in states where marijuana is medically or recreationally legal.

WHAT IS CBD?

CANNABIDIOL ("HEMP")

HOW DOES CBD AFFECT ME?

CBD is non-intoxicating and therefore non-psychoactive.

THE BASICS

CBD can counteract the psycho-activity of THC and is less psychoactive that THC-dominant strains without the disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria. Contains less than 0.3% THC.

WHERE IS CBD DERIVED FROM?

Extracted from Hemp (male) plant

IS CBD LEGAL?

Due to its non-intoxicating properties, W!NK™ CBD products are currently legal in all 50 states.

Hemp plants are either imported from Europe or grown in the United States (under research and development purposes approved by the government).  "Hemp grown" CBD is legally sold nationally and is lawful to cross state lines, therefore making it a national product.

To be legal across state lines, W!NK™ sources industrial hemp from Europe that contains less than 0.3% THC which classifies our products under the Farm Bill, like many of your other beauty products.
